I have been in shock since I heard the news. I think it hit me in a different way because I just seen her at Tru Hollywood on Thursday 2/9/12 on the red carpet for Kelly Price Unplugged. I was helping my friend out taking pictures for The Jasmine Brand when the diva was sighted. Everyone was uber excited to see her in person. I remember her screaming "It's Me It's Me," as she hugged a fan. It is so sad that she is gone. She will truly be missed. Please enjoy one of the last pictures taken of Whitney Houston. I am so happy I am able to share this with you .

Here are some of the looks I am on the fence about. Halle looks great as always but I don't know if I like or hate the dress. January Jones also looked beautiful, but I only liked the dress when she was still. I didn't care for the long fringes. Amber Riley's dress was very flattering for her shape I just thought it was a bit too shiny cheapening the look of the dress. Jlo looks beautiful in white but I thought the dress was matronly just like Angelina's.

Reality Recap 2011 pt 2

This is the second half of the week's recap of reality shows. I didn't want to put everything together making the summary way too long.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Camille and Taylor are going through it with their husbands. Kelsey told Camille that he doesn't want to be married anymore. But she kisses Nick on the lips and not her husband...STRANGE!!! While Taylor's hubby doesn't even seem like he is in a marriage. He puts her through it. Meanwhile Kyle's daughter is graduating and received a very beautiful gift for her graduation. Adrienne looked for any and every excuse to go shopping, but what woman doesn't. Maybe taking Paul was not a good idea. Lisa is upset that Kyle has become close to Taylor when they were close friends first. Lisa's husband is still trying to get Cedric to leave their home, but Cedric sweet talked Lisa in to letting him stay longer. Tune in next week for the season finale.

Millionaire Matchmaker
As the season ends for the NYC sessions, Patti ends it with the craziest millionairest of them all. Stacy the crazy. Freddie the ex NFL player was pissed that the chick googled him, but honestly what women doesn't nowadays. We have to protect ourselves from the stalkers. Anywho the chick confronted him about unpaid child support that she saw and that was a turnoff for him. Needless to say they never spoke again. Stacy took her date to see a private screening of herself in lingerie. The guy was mortified. He told her that he was not sexually attracted to her and she left the date. Patti kicked her out of the club for good and it is back to LA LA Land for the club. Thank God. NYC was crazy.

The Fashion Show
It is down to the final four contestants, Jeffery, Calvin, Caesar, and Dominique. I must say the designers this season are not as good as the ones from the previous season. The talent is lacking however this episode has been the most interesting to me. Caesar and Jeffery did their thing. Their collection was the best of two houses hands down. I am interested in seeing who is going to go home next.

Jersey Shore
Gotta love these guys. I can watch this show over and over again. Kind of happy to see that Ronnie is coming back to his normal self. He is much happier when he is having fun with everyone instead of being cooped up with that darn Sammie. I wonder how many more episodes we will have to put up with her being on the show. She is super boring and the stank attitude needs to go!!!! Pauly D moment of the episode two words Filet Mignon....those who watch know what I am talking about. I had to rewind a couple of times to make sure he pronounced it like that.

The Game

Everyone keeps talking about how disappointed they were withThe Game and how you will not be watching anymore. What were you expectingpeople!!! From all of the infogiven to us by the web and the appearances on different talk shows we alreadyknew what was going to happen. We knew they were not starting the show wherethey left off, that Tasha’s new love interest was Terrence J, that Kelly wouldhave her reality show and that Melanie is still on the baby not being Derwin’s.I did not dislike nor like the episode. It was cool. I guess my expectationswere not as high as some of you others. I liked how it was more like a soapopera rather than a sitcom.

Now there were a few WTF moments in the show, one thatsticks out in my mind the most is Tasha smoking a black and mild. When the heckdid she start smoking??? Next moment Britt Brat…boy did she grow up within the“two year” timeframe. Sheree is one of my favorite housewives from ROHA but herone line appearance was SUPER pointless. Give her a bigger part, maybe Jason’slove interest.

I know a lot of you are saying you will not continue towatch the show but it was we, the fans that helped bring this show back. Wedon’t have any decent black sitcoms out there why get rid of this one. All ofthe stupid Tyler Perry shows are lasting why can’t we have one that is decent.We need to continue to support this show. I don’t know any sitcom or drama thatdoes not have one bad episode but we continue to watch. For example Grey’sAnatomy, was on a streak of bad episodes but we didn’t lose hope on it why giveup on a show for our people. Constantly we are complaining about how there are no black shows for usto watch but we are the reasons why they get taken away. We are too DAMNcritical. We do not support. So I will say this even if you don’t want to watchit, set your DVR so the show will continue to come on for those of us who wantto see a decent black show, because in my opinion that is the only one we have.

I will be tuning in so should you.

2011 Reality Recap Begins pt. 1

It is only Monday and yet there has been so many reality tv shows to catch up on.

Jersey Shore
Oh yeah......it is back...this season was highly anticipated, which was showed by the ratings. 8.5 million people tuned in to see the group get back together. I want to first say KICK SAMMIE OFF!!! Her and her little stank attitude needs to go. She came in trying to start some mess by picking the room with 3 beds knowing no one likes her and would want to share a room with her and Ronnie. That should have been the room of MVP. Deena came in with a positive attitude trying to give everyone the benefit of doubt but she was a straight evil B to her. Sammie needs to go!!! The fact that she thinks she is hard because she got one punch in with J-Woww in the previous season, makes it worse. I love this show and can't wait to see what is in store.
My prediction: I think Snooki and Deena will get into it over a guy.

Basketball Wives
Now with BB Wives...OMG...if that isn't a bunch of ghetto mess. First off Shaunie is an instigator. She was told that them fools were not invited to the charity event but still gave them the address, then wants to act as if she didn't know how or why they came. Then we have Tami's ghetto self trying to fight at the event. Who does that...poor little Jennifer didn't know what to do but run.

What Chilli Wants
Chilli, sweetie let Floyd go. He is not trying to be in a relationship with you. Tionna is bringing you too many fine men to be stuck on a man that is playing with your emotions. Take the earrings and go girl. He is not the one. Let go of your little list. Come up with a list of things that you absolutely cannot live with instead, for example, smokers, man with more than 2 kids, etc. Stop being so picky or you will be alone forever.

Brandy and Ray J
I think a lot of women can relate to Brandy right now. I know a lot of my friends can. We are all at the age where we want to meet someone that wants to be with us without all of the drama and games. I am surprised however by the fact that she is BRANDY and cannot find anyone easily. That makes me feel like there is no hope for normal chicas like myself. Ray boo boo get rid of your girl until you are ready to treat her right. She is a good girl and you claiming you a GROWN MAN all the time is annoying...Who are you trying to convince. I hate when men try to say that mess. We know you are grown but it is about respect. I love this show, Brandy, Shay and Ray J, and I love the relationship that Brandy and Ray J have as brother and sister. I just wish that the show was an hour like it used to be. Please switch BB Wives back to a half an hour and Brandy and Ray J back to an hour please and thank you.

Kendra (Season Finale)
I love Kendra and Hank. They are truly in love with one another. I love how they show us how important it is to make efforts to keep a marriage strong. They show the audience that long distance relationships can work if you allow them to. Awaiting for next season with new baby...just hoping there will be a new baby.

Real Housewives of ATL
I do not enjoy watching Kim's non-singing butt perform. It is uber annoying. Kim why are you such a DIVA....Kandi put all that money into the tour bus and all you did was complain. She didn't need you on her tour. She would have been fine without you. Kandi next time drop her and Sweetie's butt off at the nearest rest stop. Phaedra Phaedra Phaedra...this chick is forever coming up with a party for something. The Sip and See but don't touch the baby. I love it. The Phaedra comment of the night"...big ol donkey booty like a reindeer..."WTH too funny. Cynthia you know you really don't want to marry that man. You bringing up the fact that he owes you money. You are about to be one so your money is his money and vice versa. If you are not ready for that please pump the breaks on the wedding. Loved the appearance of Hill Harper. I love a strong, black, educated man. Can't wait to see next week's episode when Nene gets into with Kim.

The Bachelor
I didn't watch the whole episode but I did see the wonderful Pretty Woman themed date that Brad gave to Jackie. It started off with a spa day in Beverly Hills, then he took her to a room filled with beautiful dresses for their date later that night. She was told to try on whatever and take whichever one she wanted. There was a makeup artist and hair stylist there to get her ready for the date. Once she was dressed a car took them to the Hollywood Bowl Amphitheater where they had a private dinner for two. Once she thought it couldn't get any better, Train (the band) appeared for a private concert. Now that is how you have a first date fellas. Take note.

Bad Girls Club
Whoa...the seasons are getting worse and worse. The women are coming in trying to fight as soon as they get in the house. I hope it is not like last season meaning I don't want to have a revolving door with chicks leaving and coming through the whole show. We don't get to know the characters, I know it is reality but these women are characters. Jade already left the show with her crazy self. Nikki (the football player) pushed all her little buttons and sent her packing. I don't know how much long Nikki will last though. The house seems like they will be going against her. I don't think Char fits in. I think she is too "mature" to be on that show. I don't think the girl from KY will last. This will be interesting.

Kimora's Life in the Fab Lane
Wow...really an 8 year old party at the Four Seasons....get the heck out of here. Kimora is too much. Aoki is turning 8 and wanted to have a fashion show party at the Four Seasons with a Chanel inspired cake. What does this child know about the Four Seasons. I can't wait to see what Kimora has in store for her daughter's sweet sixteen party. I hope reality tv is still going strong so we can see the extravagant party that will be. Kimora you are creating a monster. The party turned out super cute but it was too much for an eight year old. I loved how Kimora was able to help the Make a Wish Foundation. That was a beautiful thing.

I know I am a little off subject but I feel like somethingneeds to be said. In today’s society we all know that sex sells, but the musicindustry is starting to take it a little too far. I say this thinking about allof my friends with children. Don’t get me wrong I like most of the music that Iam referring to but I feel like there is a time and a place for everything…INTHE BEDROOM. The number one song that comes to my mind is Ludacris’ song SexRoom. I love that song but I do not think songs of that nature should be playedon the radio where kids can learn the words and sing them. I know that most people are going to saythat it is up to the parents to monitor what their kids listen to and watch ontelevision. However fifty percent of the people that have kids shouldn’t and donot have common sense to not allow their children to listen to this adultmusic.

Recently I watched two videos that I thought were a bit muchif accessed by children. Sex Roomnot include though very racy as well, but Raheem Devaughn’s She’s Single verywas taken off Youtube due to the sexual content and I feel like Keri Hilson’s,The Way You Love Me should be taken off as well. If little girls seen thisvideo purposely or on accident they would think it is ok to grind in outfitthat have your private areas out for everyone to see. These videos should be ona show like Uncut (if show was still aired). What is this industry coming or should I say how far will theartist go to sell their music.

I am super excited about my upcoming move but also very sad to leave some of my favorite people behind. I was uber excited to be a spectator at this wonderful fashion show. Anticipating what shoe designer, Lauren Luna, had in store for everyone, I was surprised to also see designs from clothing designers. The climax of the show would have been when one of the models in body paint came out with a live snake around her neck. That got everyone's attention. Following that model was 3 other models also carrying snakes that grew bigger in size. Lauren featured some fabulous shoes. Take a look at some of the pieces from all of the collections.

Columbus Fashion Week 2010

Last Sunday I attended the Finale runway show for Columbus Fashion Week. I have to say I was quit impressed. The designers that were involved in this wonderful event included names like Danielle Benson (Nontle Jewelry), Tad B, JWORK Ltd., Crys Lappie (Label Yourself), PamelaTruemper, Laurie B Allen, Aaron Hunter (Ruby Hill), Badcock Apparel, Nina Bagley Furs, and LP Miller of Three Twisted Trees & LP Designs. It is really exciting to see Columbus emerging into a small fashion city. Having attended a Fashion Week show in NYC I can honestly say that Columbus is well on it way to have successful

Fashion Week Experience (NYC Sept 2010)

Hey fellow bloggers...I finally got to experience a show at fashion week first hand and it was fabulous. I can't wait to experience more in the near future. As I was trying to decide what to wear to the show I was super nervous at the same time, thinking what if something happens and we do not make it. What if they do not let us in. All negative things running through my head. The outfit, khaki jumpsuit, that I initially brought to wear to the show was a no thanks to mother nature making me even more paranoid. So I think I should just wear something that is comfortable but edgy. I decided to go with grey skinny jeans, white tank, studded booties and a short leather jacket, see below.

The show we attended was the Academy of Arts MFA students. It is one of the only colleges to have shows at Fashion Week. Not knowing what to expect once the show started I was very impressed. It was a wonderful experience to be at the actual show. Iloved the opportunity to see Ms. J from ANTM, Leann Marshall from ProjectRunway and Kevin Christiana from Project Runway. Other than the fabulous people attending the show wasamazing. The work of the MFA students was superb.

The first designer Jungah Lee used the fabrics of latex andsilk to created a very feminine collection. The color pallet was soft pinks,blues and gold. My favorite piece from the collection was a one shouldertextured dress. It was beautiful.

The second designer Cara Chiappetta created a collectionthat was feminine menswear. Icould see her collection being worn by the corporate women of power who have astrong fashion sense as well. The collection was structured and well puttogether. My favorite piece was the black jumpsuit. It was classy yet edgy.

Next we had, Louie Llewellyn and Xiang Zhang who created aridiculous men’s collection. Every piece was well made. I did not have afavorite piece. I loved all of them. The color pallet was well thought out.Everything just made sense.

The next collection was made by a group of students. I feelthe group wanted to try something different. It was a print collection combinedof many prints. I did not care for the exaggerated hips on some of the pieces.

April Howard created a very edgy collection. It was made outof leather. I liked her pieces. She only used one color, I would have preferredto see other colors but her clothes were well made.

Camille Olson is next with a chic work collection. It wasvery feminine using silk for the material on the dresses but adding the cagingbrought on an edgy vibe. It was super interesting and all of the pieces wereready to wear. I would love to wear one of the dresses in the office.

The last designer, Maria Korovilas, showed her expertise inbeading. It was very lux and beautiful. Her collection looked very rich andexpensive. The color pallet also added a rich feeling. I loved the lace-beadeddress.

Project Runway Recap (episode 3)

Hey everyone as you know I haven't been drawn to this season like I have been to the previous. I had not seen creativity like I am used to. That could be due to the challenges given in the beginning. This week's challenge was to create a piece using on the items found in a party store. Tim told each of the contestants to stay away from items like wrapping paper and table cloths because they are very similar to using regular fabric. Let the creativity begin. This was very interesting because designer Betsey Johnson was a guest judge for this which of course made the designer more nervous. I of course had my favorites and the one that I disliked the most. I will start with my favorites. I absolutely loved Andy's piece. It was extremely wearable and modern. I would love to wear it. His dress was made out of ribbon.

I also liked Gretchen's outfit was reamarkable. She made three pieces out of fringe garland.

Last in my top three is Valerie. She made her dress out of napkins. It was very chic and feminine. Loved it.

The dress that I disliked the most was Cassanova's dress. I was disappointed in his dress one because it was ugly and two because he cheated using a table cloth and that was the only thing he could come up with. Prediction....Cassanova will be leaving next week.

The person who was sent home was Sarah. I disagree that she should have been sent home. Yes her dress was safe but she followed directions and her dress was not the worse one in the show. Here is her dress you be the judge.

Project Runway
Project Runway started this week. So far I am not impressed. No one stood out to me. I am happy it is back and that Michael is back. Hopefully is will grace us with is presence the whole season this time. He was missed last season. Hope this season is more interesting than last because the people were super boring last season. Bring on the DRAMA!

Design Star

The designers had to design an apartment in one of "The Donald's" buildings. The loft was supposed to come across as being high end, luxury and represent the Trump Brand. The apartment is in the heart of Manhattan with a beautiful view. One of the team bombed the challenge. The bathroom was blue, the bed was missing a mattress and the view was covered up by curtains that were not able to be opened. Womp Womp...epic fail. This caused two of the designers to go home. Bye Bye Tom and Stacey.

So You Think You Can Dance

Jose and Billy went home....I think that Jose should have been gone but his personality kept him there. He was cute but not really that spectacular in all of the genres. Billy was pretty good but not one of my favs. Let's go Kent and Adechike.

Jersey Shore

*Fist Pump* So excited to see the new season of Jersey Shore. I was counting down the days until it came on. I can't believe that Angelina is back...She is a dramatic whore. I want J-Woww to tell her off. "The Situation" is my ultimate fav. Ronnie is being a jerk this season. I didn't really care for him last season but the way he is treating Sammie is ridiculous. Kissing multiple chicks will not get him anywhere but in a clinic. He needs to get it together. Can't wait to see what happens next week.

Hey ladies

It has been a while. Boy have I missed blogging. Unfortunately my laptop was stolen and I haven't had time to go anywhere to blog, but I'm Back!!! You know I like to try new things and tell everyone about it. This time I wanted to try eye lash extensions. I am always on Facebook looking for makeup artists, photographers, stylists etc so I came across Dacia Whiteside of Peacock Pro. She is a makeup artist/ lash extensionist. After my week of being robbed and car being hit I decided that I will do something that will make me feel glamorous and beautiful. I hit her up on email to schedule an appointment. With the confirmation I received a long list of things to be aware of, which was overwhelming. I started to back out but I didn't.

Once at my appointment, she reminded me of the important things not to do during the process. The main thing was do NOT open your eyes. You would think that would be easy, but since it is expressed not to so much, my eyes wanted to open. I had to concentrate on keeping them closed. Once she started the process it was easier to do. The process took a total of two hours. But it was two hours well worth it. I will be going back in three weeks for my fill in. This might be something I have to keep up. I don't have to wear any mascara. I just put on my foundation and keep it moving. This was a very interesting but relaxing experience. I suggest everyone try it once. Below are some pics of what my lashes look like now.

He has been superb in every genre that he has attempted to do. I really hope that he returns next year to compete because I really truly think that he would have won this year's competition. Nordstrom Rack vs. Saks Off 5th

This weekend I had my first definitely not my last shopping experience at Saks Off 5th. Of course I am here to bring my thoughts to you on my wonderful experience. I went solely to find some designer sunglasses for the low but also looked around at the clothes and shoes. With me was my shopping friend to cover parts of the store I didn't make it to. Anywhoo...I found some lovely Dior glasses that got purchased but everything else seemed a little too high to be in a 4th of July sale.

Having going to both of the clearance version of the high end stores I would have to say that Nordstrom Rack has the better deals. I have been to the one in Cincinnati and in Chicago. The Saks Off 5th had some deals for the items to be designer labels but the prices were not marked down as much as Nordstrom Rack marks them. The Off 5th that I went to was also in Cincinnati. I will continue to go to both stores but if you want the better deals go to Nordstrom Rack. Happy Saving.

Now down to business. As you see my favorite routine was Alex Wong and Twitch. I also liked Adechike's performance. So after watching all of the performances if they based it off of technique Jose would have gone home long time ago because he is only good in his genre. But I love his personality and I guess America does also. I am not a fan of any of the women this season. I think all of the men are more talented. With that said Melinda was sent home to hang up her tap shoes. We shall see what next week brings us.

Reality Recap of the Week 6/16/10 part I

One of my favorite reality shows is back for its new season. The show I am talking about is Design Star. I love watching the creative ideas come to life in a room. This week the contestants were only given 500 dollars for the materials for their white room challenge and were told that they will be shopping at an Asian marketplace. The twist this week was that they were paired with another contestant and had to design the space to the liking of who their partner was. Each had time to ask questions to determine what the person would want in their room. Once at the market they were only given one hour to shop.

During the judges walk through one of the designers threw their partner under the bus. When interviewed she described a lounge type room but when the judges asked if she like the room that he created for her she said he missed her personality all together and that she was more Bohemian Chic. Unfortunately that was not what she told him and he was placed in the bottom six. The judges picked the six favorites and the bottom six have to wait it out.

This season something new is that the people who are in the bottom of the pack will have to create a taped walk through of their space to show their personality on television. So not only will they be judged on their room, they will be judged on their persentation of their room. I love this new element of the competition. In the end Nina won best room and Julie got sent home (good decision). If you know me you know that I absolutely hate to see clear polish on women's toe nails. Throw some type of color on them. Clear is for Men!!!! Be Bright, Bold, and Beautiful for these summer months. Try yellows, pinks, blues, greens of all shades. Stand out in the world of feet. If those colors are too much for you go classic with a french tip. Just make sure your feet are done. Last buy sandals in a half size bigger for comfort and so your feet do not hang off the front or back, because you WILL I repeat WILL get talked about if you are seen with your toes dangling off the front of you shoes. I know I know...I said that I would update you on the reality shows but darn it there is just one too many. Now that shows are coming to the season finales I feel like I can get back to what I said I was going to do. I told everyone I was having a Jersey overload with all of the reality shows now and that I was not going to watch Jersey Couture but I couldn't help it. I had to check it out. Jersey Couture is centered around a Jersey family owned business selling dresses called Diane and Co. The family includes Diane the mom/boss, Kim eldest daughter, Christina youngest daughter, youngest child Anthony and Sal the father. The store carries all kinds of dresses from wedding, prom, bridesmaides, homecoming and dresses for events like bridal showers, etc. During this first episode the dresses sold were for attending a wedding, prom, a baby shower and a fashion show for charity.

Now let's get down to business...the experience you receive while at the store is very personal and one on one. Each client is given their own stylist to find the dress that is made for her. They make their clients feel important and special. However the mother is waaaayyyy over the top. You hear words like booty pop and viganini. She also calls herself the boobologist specializing in making everyone's boobs look incredible. She is very honest and doesn't hold anything in so if you are not easily offended you will love her. She is funny. Always dancing and singing around she keeps all of the customers amused.

I don't know how well the show will do but me being the reality freak that I am will be tuning in because it deals with fashion. In case you missed it, the show will be repeating this week on Oxygen on 6/3 at 7AM and 7PM and 6/5 at 2AM just to name a few. Make sure you check it out and let me know what you think. SATC 2 Premiere

I was honored to attend the sneak preview of SATC in Columbus, Ohio, at the Easton Towne Center. I was totally excited when I received my ticket. This was the first time I had ever been to the movie theater by myself so I was terrified at the same time. Sooooo many emotions but I figured who needs to company to see one of their favorite series, not I....Anywho....I would recommend this movie to all the fans. It was great seeing the ladies come back together to do another one. I was under the assumption that Jennifer Hudson was going to be in this sequel but I am sorry to say she was not. I thought the movie was overall good. I did not like it as much as the first one. I can't say too much sense it isn't out but make sure you go see it then come back and tell me what you think.

How to take Carrie's style and make it your own

Hey you SATC fans, if you are like me you have been waiting for the sequel of SATC to come out to see the fabulous fashions of Carrie Bradshaw. I absolutely love the outrageous fashions of the Bardshaw character. Some may find her outfits overwhelming but if it is you can always take a piece from it and make it your own.

Lets take this wonderful vintage newspaper dress of Dior's 2000 Fall line. I think it is a dress that would make you stand out in the crowd but it may be a little much for some of you. However the style of the dress would look amazing on pretty much every body type. Put it with a shoe that adds that pop of color and you are good to go. Now for you stylistas you think this dress is yummy. I would have put it with a red, yellow or royal blue shoe if I wore it. But I love love love the Christian Louboutin open toe booties Carrie is wearing.

The J'adore Dior 8 t-shirt is going to be a hot commodity this s/s. Everyone wants to find one. My guess to have it to wear to see the new movie. The ball gown is a little much but we all know that is totally Carrie Bradshaw and only someone little and petite can get away with that. However ladies we can snatch the t-shirt pair it with some skinny jeans or boyfriend jeans and throw some heels on with a cute leather jacket.

Everyone loves the white Halston dress. There is nothing I would change about this look. You can add jewelry and shoes that make it your own. This particular dress would look so cute with pair of gladiator shoes for a more casual look then a strappy sandal to dress it up. The blue Halston dress is just as cute. It is very feminine. Like the other dress this one can be paired with cute flats or strappy heels.

I love the peach Halston dress. The assymetrical dress one shoulder dress is very trendy and fab. This dress looks amazing with a strappy sandal. You can add your flavor with special pieces of jewelry of your taste. I would piece the dress with gold accessories and strappy gold shoes.

Trina had them on for her interview on 106 and Park and while on Concreteloop.com I saw Ciara in them. I did not like them with Trina's dress but thought they looked cute with Ciara's outfit. Private Fashion Party hosted by Pink Diamond PR

Have you ever wanted to gather your girlfriends together and have a private shopping event as seen on television shows like Real Housewives of Atlanta or Basketball Wives. Thanks to Arden B it can be done. I was uber excited to receive an invite to one of my favorite stores for a private shopping party. This event was hosted by Pink Diamond PR, founder Carlita Pitts. This was the first fashion party held at the Easton Towne Center location. I must say everything was well organized. All of the guests received a 15% discount off of the full purchase and the extra bonus was that we had the special of buy one item get the second for 15 dollars. Talk about major savings. The hostess receives 25 dollars towards their purchase. Interested in having a party of your own yet. Wait there is more....

During this event there was a mini fashion show using a couple of Carlita's friends, which included store owners Adrienne Ruff of Step-N-Out Boutique, and Deepika Benjamin of Shoetique. The fashion show included the new spring/summer looks. Take look at some of the looks from the fashion show.

Recently my friend and I tried this product to see if it was worth buying or not. I will start by telling you that my friend is caucasian. I wanted to see if it would work differently on different skin types. Frist Heather used the base, came to work and no one noticed a difference. She was upset that her skin did not feel any softer nor was it easier to apply her foundation. I tried the base a couple of days later and instead of using a powder foundation I used the press powder foundation to see if tat would make a difference. Unfortunately the base did not make my skin any softer nor was it easier to apply my foundation. I would suggest you try the base for yourself to see if you like it but for Heather and I it was a definite MISS.

Living in Columbus, Ohio, you rarely hear anyone talking about fashion stylists in our city. Everyone needs a stylist sometime in their lives rather it is for a photo shoot, new job, post pregnancy, etc. I am happy to inform you that we have a couple of fabulous stylists here in our city. I was fortunate to meet these ladies at a Fly Girl Friday event that is held at Step-N-Out Boutique. As soon as I met them I knew I wanted to feature them on my blog. I am excited to share with you our interview and some of their work.

Styl'd by Choice: When did you both know that you wanted to become a stylist?

Kristin: I knew I wanted to do something with fashion since I was in middle school. I actually decided I wanted to be a stylist after I spent some time with some people touring on the TRL tour in 2001, I believe.

Christina: I knew I wanted to become a stylist when I interned at Seventeen Magazine. I worked closely with fashion editors and directors, and assisted on photo shoots. I knew I was passionate about it because I was excited to go to work everyday.

Styl'd by Choice: What are you favorite brands of clothing or favorite store?

Kristin: Favorite brands: Vintage St. John, Betsey Johnson, Norma Kamali and American Apparel
Favorite Store: Any Thrift store, a woman's trash is really another woman's treasure.

Christina: I’m really into denim, so my favorite denim brands right now are William Rast and True Religion. I don’t really have a favorite store or brand, I wear whatever I think is cute, and what’s affordable. I don’t like to spend a lot on clothes

Styl'd by Choice: What are the must have pieces that every woman should have in her closet?

Kristin: Every woman must have:
*A great classic little black dress of course
*A pair of jeans that fit perfectly to her shape (tailored)
*A fabulous vintage tee
*A couple pairs of great black stilettos
*An 80's gucci (the navy, red and white looks great with jeans and a tee during the summer)

Christina: Every woman must have:
*Great jeans that fit well
*Pashmina/scarf
*Solid color t-shirts
*A fabulous pair of black heels
*At least 1 pair of designer sunglasses

Styl'd by Choice: Where do you see yourselves in five years?

Kristin: - Hopefully we will have our boutique and be able to travel doing work all over the world.

Christina: In 5 years I see ChristinaKristin Co. having a boutique, and being more recognized as successful stylists/designers.

Kristin: I don't think I can pick just one

Kristin: Hot pants: it sucks they aren't for everyone, jumpsuits and funky headbands especially the ones with big dramatic bows

Okay so if you are like me you wait until the absolute last minute to purchase your mother's day gift. It is hard to purchase things for people who do not really need anything. I am not a fan of gift cards for parents or siblings because I feel they are not personable. I feel we should choose a gift that is from the heart and well thought out. The normal gifts are flowers (boring), perfume, and clothes. Let's be creative people. This year think of something that your mother would never think you would get her.

Gladiators, Ruffles and Flats oh my. You all know I absolutely love my shoes and I told myself that I was going to avoid writing about shoes this month, but by request of my lovely friend Rosalyn Coston, here is another blog about the shoes I love. She wanted to know what was going to be hot for this Spring/Summer. Let's see it is pretty much everything that we were wearing last Spring/Summer with different colors or revamped. For example gladiator shoes are back. They are the perfect shoes that can be worn with jeans, capris or dresses. Next I love love love the ruffle shoes. They are the perfect very feminine touch to an outfit. The come in the form of closed toe and open toe. Flats are the ultimate cute and comfy shoe. They, like gladiators look great with dresses, jeans, skirts and capris. Next trend, any type of shoe with embellishments or studs on them. Kitten heels are the pumps that have the lower heel on them. Kitten heels are super cute and are perfect for the ladies who cannot wear three or four inch heels. Let's talk wedges next. Wedges are not my favorite but I know people like them so grab a pair of fabulous looking wedges. I just don't know how to walk in wedges or I would have some. Next...shoes with cuffs. This is your edgy shoe look for the spring. I don't know if I can personally get with this look but I will include the oxford. This is supposed to be hot this season. We shall see. Shapewear...I know I know you do not even want to think about it. When I think of shapewear the words that come to mind is UNCOMFORTABLE, TIGHT, IRRITATING, AND HOT. However as a woman we need to have at least 3-4 shapewear pieces in our wardrobe. What Are They Doing Now: My Fav Reality Designers

I am a reality show freak. I pretty much watch them all, especially if they are about fashion. I love seeing how creative they are. Now since watching shows like Project Runway, The Fashion Show and Launch My Line I have grown to love some of the designers. I continue to follow them to see what they are doing. My favorites include Christian Siriano, Reco Chapple, Korto Momolu, Mychael Knight.

Christian Siriano was season four’s winner of Project Runway. Known for saying Fierce all of the time, Siriano was known for constructing pieces that were very elaborate and precise. Everyone loved Christian. Recently he has written a book, “Fierce Style: How to Be Your Most Fabulous Self. He has created a line for Payless Shoes and on April 5th at 10PM ET on Bravo, he will have a one hour special called Christian Siriano: Having a Moment. Please be sure to tune in.

Reco Chapple should have been the winner of The Fashion Show but was robbed of the title. All of his designs were loved by the audience especially me. Currently Reco has moved to Atlanta and opened a boutique called House of Chapple Inc. His work is edgy and very trendy. If in Atlanta please be sure to stop by to see his fabulous work. Since I am not in Atlanta I have to follow him on facebook. Love Love Love his designs.

Korto Momolu I feel was also robbed of a title. She should have won Project Runway season five. As a finalist, Korto consistently gave us pieces that we have never seen before. She made beautiful dresses. Momolu has been featured on Rip the Runway a BET fashion sensation. Currently Korto is on tour with Dillards for her line of jewelry and handbags. Mychael Knight was on season three of Project Runway. He brought it every week in the competitions but once he needed to put together a line for fashion week he seemed like he wanted to be safe. I really wish he would have won but understood why the judges didn’t chose him to win. Mychael Knight was featured on one Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta, giving advice to designer Sheree. Andre Leon Talley to Replace Miss J Alexander...WTF

Everyone loves Miss J Alexander. Why would you replace him? Who is going to teach the girls to walk fierce? Who is going to wear the outfits that represent how many girls are left? Who is going to keep us entertained? Andre Leon Talley, editor in cheif of Vogue will replace Miss J. how sad. Now don’t get me wrong Andre Leon Talley is amazing. He knows what he is talking about and everyone respects him in the business however I think he should have just been added to the cast not a replacement. This fourteenth season should be very interesting. I am interested in seeing if the show will gain or lose people watching. Tyra this might not have been the best decision.
